If I had to start over again, here’s what I’d do differently:
I’d stop trying to earn love through achievement.
Because for most of my life, I believed being worthy meant being capable, strong, and impressive.
It worked — until it didn’t.
The Moment Everything Broke (and Began Again)
I grew up in a modest family in Indonesia—the eldest daughter, the responsible one. My survival strategy? Achieve. Prove. Perform.
Scholarships. Top university. Engineer. Then at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). On paper: success. Inside: quiet collapse.
After moving to Japan, selling shoes in Ginza, teaching English, working part-time at city hall—all while trying to find “the real me” in a country I could barely speak. By 2023 I was CIO of a retail company in Tokyo. On paper: made it. Inside: falling apart.
That’s when I realised: success without soul is still emptiness. I didn’t need another title. I needed safety—in my body, in my truth, in my own leadership.
That moment became the seedbed for the THRIVE Method™—not another strategy, but a path back to wholeness.
